Plumber Notes: Attempted to remove a 10 in. wheel valve inside the pump room beside pond. Five additional pumps were needed to aid the removal of water. Due to how the water intake is for the pond circulating pump we were not able to stop the water flow and needed to remove most of the water from the pond before beginning work. Unable to leave the pond pump unsupervised due to the residence at the property we were there for 30 hours removing water. Once the water was removed we attempted to replace the 10 Butterfly valve and were unsuccessful due to new design of valve and existing impressions the valve made against the rubber spanflex coupling. Rebuilt existing 10 in. Butterfly valve and reattached the handle and made it sturdy. Attempting to reinstall rebuilt butterfly valve the brittle 10 in. flange cracked. Needed to cut back on flange and replace the flange then replace all of existing pipe from pump to spanflex coupling. After install of new pipe and test, all is holding well and not leaking. Also added a brace to bottom of pipe making the pipe much more stable.
