Water Heater Plumbing Service on April 8, 2025 in Jacksonville, (32217)
Plumber Notes: Upon arrival we started by turning off the power to the old water heater the water was already shut off. We cut the cpvc water supply lines and removed the old water heater. I had to cut the copper supply lines back closer to the wall to fit the new water heater into place. We ran new cpvc water lines and connected to the new water heater. I put a new expansion tank on the cold water feed per Florida code. We allowed the flue to cure before turning water on to test for leaks. We opened a hot valve on the mop sink faucet to bleed water and air from the system. I turned power on and waiting for the water heater to cool before leaving…. read more
Water Leaks Plumbing Service on April 8, 2025 in Jacksonville, (32217)
Plumber Notes: Upon arrival I was shown the 1 inch sch 40 pvc backflow. The leak appears to be about 15 ft from the backflow bubbling up water/sand from underground. We had an issue trying to find the water main so starting from the backflow bubbling flow using a trenching shovel we had to trace the line all the way to where the pipe was broken. The 1 inch pvc water main is on a downward angle and runs underneath a 6 inch sewer pipe about 3 ft 6 inches deep under the surface. We were able to locate the break at a bell end glue joint. It appears the leak has been going on for a while as there is gouging in the pvc pipe from water and sand scratching by. Our last glue joint was at 5:50pm we will be turning the water on around 6:35pm for testing. At 6:35pm I opened a hose bib on side of building to allow any dirt in line to blow out and slowly turned on the water. After blowing out any debris from inside the water line we slowly turned off the hose bib to allow the system to build pressure. NO LEAKS DETECTED. We are coving the pipe back with dirt and will rake up the grass. After putting dirt back and raking grass we put caution tape around the freshly dug grass so no one drives over it again. NO LEAKS DETECTED wanted to cancel and reschedule for tomorrow morning…. read more
Betros Plumbing Services Plumbing Service on December 4, 2023 in Jacksonville, (32217)
Plumber Notes: Upon my arrival I met with the homeowner who informed me that he had his back bathroom of the house which is over 100 years old, backing up into the shower drain. According to him, anytime that he flushed the toilet, the water came out of the shower drain and he has had this issue recently. He had another company come out and snake the drain just last week. However, the issue still persisted. I removed the toilet after coming to the conclusion that there are no clean outs to the main on the property. I sent my cable down roughly 30 ft several times. I was able to successfully clear the blockage. However, upon retrieval of the cable, I discovered that the cable was dry and there were roots stuck on the end of the cable. I attempted several times after discussing it with the homeowner to send a camera down the line. However, the larger camera is too big to make the turn into the main. The homeowner will be scheduling with us soon to come back with the smaller camera and attempt to camera the line and locate what may be a larger issue. Toilet reinstalled. Water turned back on. See photos job completed. On November 7th I returned to send a camera back down the line. I was successfully able to use the camera to locate plant life growing in the line. After locating the flow of the pipe which is heading towards the back of the property and out of the back fence with assistance from Paul. We dug a hole in the backyard and were able to discover that the pipe is actually degrading and had a large crack in the top of it. There is also soil and gravel in the line which indicates there are other cracks on the property. Paul has given the homeowners and estimate which they approved of and will be applying for financing. We will be returning at a later date to dig up the broken pipe and install new PVC drain line coming from the back bathroom and tying in to the main. Job completed for now…. read more
