Plumber Notes: Upon arrival I was shown the 1 inch sch 40 pvc backflow. The leak appears to be about 15 ft from the backflow bubbling up water/sand from underground. We had an issue trying to find the water main so starting from the backflow bubbling flow using a trenching shovel we had to trace the line all the way to where the pipe was broken. The 1 inch pvc water main is on a downward angle and runs underneath a 6 inch sewer pipe about 3 ft 6 inches deep under the surface. We were able to locate the break at a bell end glue joint. It appears the leak has been going on for a while as there is gouging in the pvc pipe from water and sand scratching by. Our last glue joint was at 5:50pm we will be turning the water on around 6:35pm for testing. At 6:35pm I opened a hose bib on side of building to allow any dirt in line to blow out and slowly turned on the water. After blowing out any debris from inside the water line we slowly turned off the hose bib to allow the system to build pressure. NO LEAKS DETECTED. We are coving the pipe back with dirt and will rake up the grass. After putting dirt back and raking grass we put caution tape around the freshly dug grass so no one drives over it again. NO LEAKS DETECTED wanted to cancel and reschedule for tomorrow morning.
